My guardian and a 53ish min teamed with a 59 champ yesterday on the Tham Mirdain school 3-man instance and the DPS that champ did was absolutely insane. We plowed through the instance without even worrying about what we were pulling - he AOEd down low-mid 50s elites (6k to 9k morale if I remember correctly) in less time than my guard can solo an even-level elite in the overpower stance.

Now picture a cluster of level 60 champs with raid-quality gear, leveled-up legendaries, minstrel support, and a few patches of tar, vs our new, improved, lower-morale creeps, and you've got a meat-grinder of proportions so epic that ol' Graymore would be squealing with orgasmic delight at the sight of it.

I haven't hit the Moors yet and didn't go there in beta because Turbine wouldn't transfer any of my creeps over, so for those who have put in some creep time: do our new abilities and/or some of the new PvMP features provide us with an effective counter to this tactic? Are the DPS improvements and better AOE capabilities up to the challenge?

Well this is encouraging - From the mouth of their cult-leader himself

Glad to be back, I am looking forward to seeing how LOTR Online did Moria and seeing you all in the moors once I am 60 and traited up.

Translation - G2bb - once I can personally take on 2-3 creeps at a time and *bravely* defeat a creep raid with my 2, I will be back to lead you all to farming victory!

We need a BA Headshot/VT squad just for him and I will definitely be on it 8)

Well,

We must Prepare ourselves to once again witness the bullshit that is the champ tarball in the stairs..... (or more so than we have lately  )

Why do I say this?

Well, because the inventor of the damn thing has returned!

I'm already suiting up my "fuck you freeps" armour in anticipation of letting a farming tarball get NO renown off my reaver ass.

I'd be more impressed if he weren't six levels above. I did the School instance at-level without a minstrel (LM, champ and guardian) and had no real issues getting through it. I'd like to see him take on at level elites, honestly. Champ DPS is improved, but champs themselves are squishier.

Also, you have to understand that all the Moria and Eregion mobs have feeble resistances and the like. They're all really easy NPC's to kill. At 54, I can kill a level 60 pretty easily because of this aspect. The mobs are not tough at all in either area.

For the reaver, the answer is clearly no. I'm Rank 10, and my reaver has only two AoE damage skills: Jagged Cut, with a 4-target maximum on a 5-second cooldown and a lengthy induction which can do 255 damage per target unmitigated, and Serration, with a 4-target maximum on a 15-second cooldown and the same slow induction which can do 345 damage per target unmitigated. (At Rank 11, which is still many months away for me, I can increase the number of targets to 5 using the Extended Reach class trait -- big fucking deal.) Furthermore, reavers don't get an AoE DOT until Rank 12, with the Mutilation skill (which only does 255 damage per target unmitigated plus 71 damage every 2 seconds for 10 seconds, and is on a 20-second cooldown). And unlike champions, reavers don't have an AoE stun, toggle stances, controlled burn or an in-combat sprint. Hell, they apparently don't really qualify as watered-down champions even at Rank 15, when they get an awesome 2 seconds removed from the cooldown on their hamstring (which is immediately wound potted out of most of the time anyway). The future looks bleak indeed, looks like we are going to be slaughtered en masse once the L60 champs start showing up.

After seeing some of the 57-60 freeps in action, plus the new weapons etc., I'm really starting to think creeps are in for a world of hurt for a while. There's just no way this can be balanced. Too many variables for devs to account for. Just little things - like LM weapons that can add up to 5 targets to their big lightning blasts - that's a huge DPS burst addition. A full raid of L60 freeps with good legendaries will be brutal.
