I'm starting to look into gaming mice/keyboards and was wondering if people had any suggestions.

In my early search, I came across the Razor Naga Epic mouse and the Razor Anasi keyboard.

Both have recieved good reviews, but carry a hefty price tag.  I'm looking for somthing a bit cheaper atm (mainly a mouse, but looking into keyboards). Two perks for the mouse though, would be that it is wireless (although that's the lesser of the two and I could definitely do without) and that it has multiple buttons on the side.

Also just as a side request, if anyone could list any specific things that I might need to look for for future mouse/keyboard purchases, I'd be interested in learning about them.

I used to use a wireless setup for gaming, back when I was playing in the livingroom of my old townhouse (on the hugenormous TV... ah memories).

Battery life was a problem, since I wasn't the only one using the setup.  There was also a slight latency to using skills which was really annoying.

I think for gaming, wired is better.  You're already fighting latency from your connection, latency from Turbine's commodore64 servers... no need to add in another source if you can avoid it.

I just use a regular mouse but I do have the Logitech G15 gaming keyboard.  It's pretty sweet, it's got LED backlit keys and 3 banks of 18 macro keys for a total of 54 potential macro keys(which in my noobness never actually use). Also has flip up LCD on the keyboard that can show you info like current CPU usage, OR you can configure it to show teamspeak info, like who is currently speaking, etc.  Its about 4 years old now and back then I paid $60 for it, I think they are around the same price range, although probably  closer to $75 now.

I know some folks will disagree but I would AVOID anything wireless to be used in online gaming. My old roomate used to play LOTRO with a completely wireless setup and there was a noticeable lag with movement and with skills going off all the time, and of course there is the issue of your batteries dying while in the middle of a fight lol.

Basically they are a shaped mini keyboard which has buttons that can all be mapped to whatever key presses you want.  The shape and the number of keys depends on the gamepad.

I have a logitech g13 and i love it.

Here is a link to a review on it.  The g13 is different to other gameboards in that it has a thumb joystick which can be used for movement much like how you would use a console stick to move forward, backwards and strafe.

As for the mouse i use a logitech g9.  It is corded but i hate wireless stuff for gaming.

For the price concious, look on ebay for a slightly used model.  I find with gaming mice that you can't really do with more than 4-5 side buttons.

Personally, ever since getting to use an old roomate's Nostromo gaming pad, I have wanted one.  It's got all the macro functionality of a gaming keyboard, but so many more easy to access keys.  Very ergonomic.  My keyboard space on the left in is already overcrowded.  Might actualy spring for one if I suddenly find myself needing to cram 2-3 more useful skills into my current setup.

My brother and a few of his friends use the Naga for WoW. Looks pretty useful to me. and I'm sure most would suggest g15 keyboard and maybe g500 mouse (both logitech).
