Ok this is the biggest group of computer literate people I know so what yas think.
1st heres my rig...
Intel Core I7 2.80 GHz 2.93 GHz
Windows 7 Home premium
4 GB RAM
Gigabit MB (not sure on specs there)
Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX+
Soundblaster Audigy audio card
850 watt PS
ok now the problem...
I have been getting 15 second freezes ever since I installed Windows 7 ( was an actual 7 disk on a band new TB HD)
Now the freezes completely lock my computer, windows itself stops responding, when I restart it happens again after a couple minutes.
If I dont power down to restart this screen comes up after a couple mins of freeze:

need a bit of computer help
After talking with caek and starting to systematically remove 1 thing at a time and restart to find the problem, the 1st thing I pull, my audio card, seems to have fixed the problem. was going to reinstall it andget the new drivers but after researching the card its a complete POS with way to many problems.
so next question would be, what do you all use for audio cards...I would just use the onboard audio but it doesnt work with high end gaming, the sound shuts down 30 seconds into the moors, wich is why I bought this card last year in the first place.
Three things to check:
1) Update Audio and Video drivers to their latest versions by downloading from manufacturer's websites.
2) Clean dust out of all fans/heatsinks and make sure your case is getting ventilation.
3) Could be a harddrive that's failing. Manufacturers often have tools that validate their drives on their websites. If those don't work, looks for something that will check your drive's "S.M.A.R.T." status.
tried wht you said V....worked for like 5 min then froze up again
mangle pretty sure its a gigabyte MB, been a while since I ordered the stuff and I know I was hunting for bundle deals on newegg when i bought it all. where can I look up my MB info?
You state that you have a Gigabyte MB.... Are you sure? The message you are seeing has to do with network booting of your computer. You are going to want to disable PXE booting. If you are using the network card off the motherboard it will be int he BIOS. If you have an Intel Network card then you will have to disable it there. For all of my Intel gigabit and 10gb cards at work it is a CTRL-S to get into the Intel NIC firmware. Look around a bit you should find it under booting options. If you give me the exact MB model and BIOS version I'll look it up and tell you how to disable it.

After some quick looking around the internet, I recommend that you open the computer up, unplug and replug in all of your cables attached to your motherboard and hard drives, and check the jumpers on your hard drives to make sure they're set as master/slave appropriately.

Try just a regular USB set of speakers or headset. That goes through an independent sound driver
