I call dibs on my Warg-Mounts: Afterthought, Babycaek, Muzaniakh, Snarky

Cool

ps. I had been stocking on Corrupted 1st-age Wargie saddles complete with tier 5 shaver and pooper scooper legacies.

pss. I guess, I will consider adding Puppikins and Bloody to injured-reserved list for my future chariot.

The other thing is that the first lady, the design director, said that the Gap of Rohan was going to be in the upcoming expansion, The Rise of Isengard..... yay for quality control Turbine XD.

Did you watch the video at the bottom of the Eurogamer page? Those Turbine designers have their desks packed together like a Chinese gold farming camp. Wow. What does that say about their corporate culture? I've felt for a long time like they don't have any appreciation for their players, and now I think I can see why. They don't have any respect for their workers, either.

Here's a couple articles I found about the new expansion:

http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/02/01/lord-of-the-rings-online-dev-on-rohans-mounted-combat-and-buying-horse-armour/

It sounds like there will only be mounted combat in the new zone, but I'm still hesitant about how it's going to work and how much of a grind it will be to gear out your horse XD.

Ick.  No way some smelly orc is going to put a saddle on me!

Freep-side, the expansion sounds fun.  However, I'll bet you 10 Turbine points that:

  • They'll forget to disable mounted combat in PvMP, leaving creeps to be stampeded and slaughtered.
  • You'll have to throw your 3rd age mount away every time you find a 2nd or 1st age one.
  • You'll finally get your 2nd or 1st age mount and find out that you ended up with some useless stat via a lottery system.
  • You'll have to throw away your pretty reputation mount (such as Lothlorien, Evendim, etc.) that you spent weeks farming badges for, because the mechanics won't allow you to gear your existing mount up as a warhorse.

Not that the mechanics don't sound fun. Just saying. Sauron's in the details.  Laughing

I've been ninja riding a certain warg for years. It'll be nice to not be so sneaky about it. Innocent

They'll just remove the moors. No problem, right?

This xpack is about 2 years late, honestly.

Wow, mounted combat. I can't imagine how that would work in the 'moors, unless Tyrannus' vision is accurate. I wonder if it will only be possible in certain areas/instances for the freeps.

The press release said that Isengard was their best selling xpac yet. Why do you say that the last one "bombed something fierce?"

I'm going to be very cautious about this one.  the last "xpac" bombed something feirce and with such a drastic change as mounted combat....the developer's past coding mishaps make me wonder if they are going to break things so bad that we wont even be able to play.

only time will tell.
