Anyone have anything going on DDO or another game? I need some distraction. :)
what is everyone playing.... besides LOTRO?
Hit me up for Left 4 Dead 2. After We raid, Misadventurers heads over there to play some. xbloodxdogx on steam.
I couldn't find your name by searching. I'm Satellitegirl on steam if you want to try adding me.
I have been playing Everquest 2 for the last two months.
Being a veteran of EQ since 1999 it brings back memories of WoWless world

Resurrecting this thread as well ;)
Been playing a little WoW...TF2...L4D2...and I downloaded Bioshock when it was 4.99 on steam the other day(couldn't resist). Hoping the Star Wars mmo will be good, as I'd like to try that.
Frogger FTW
Ok So I'll guess I'll have to get Dragonage since everyone keeps raving about it. In the mean time I'm having a fierce game of Pong and Defender (Old School) :D
Ive actually been playing Dragon Age on and off for a bit, having some fun with it!
I'm having a grand ole time with Dragon Age (360 version) Excellent game imo!
my gamertag is STR Redneck. anybody add me. i got mw2, MW, Forza, etc.
There are quite a few xbox games that I plan on getting soon MW2 is just one of them :pI do plan on getting some people around when I decide to hit up MW2 so if any of you have xbox live, let me know so when I get it we could team up?!? :)
Assassins Creed 2 is one that I am patiently waiting for (it comes out tomorrow) Still havent bought dragon age yet.
MW2 was the other reason why I went back creepside. I was really considering buying it.
Good ol lifetime sub.. keeping me from buying soooo many games.
Ok, DDO is falling into a maybe 2-3 times a week role which is cool for me. I'm playing a LOT of Borderlands (up to 4 players, co-op). Left 4 Dead 2 is releasing and I'm sure I'll buy Modern Warfare 2 sooner than later. Next spring I might get to Dragon Age but after playing The Witcher, the Bioware fare just doesn't catch my interest anymore.
I bought the Mirkwood update but I don't think I'll be playing it till spring-ish. I'm still burnt out on the game....
I really enjoyed The Witcher. It brought a fresh perspective to the single-player RPG for me in terms of gameplay and combat. Also, the 'hard' difficulty was one of the few that was truly difficult that I've played. I wish it was a bit longer, but overall a great game.
Edit: Modern Warfare 2 was simply amazing. My only complaint is that your AI teammates sometimes block you and the story was a tad short/fast-moving. I suppose it makes more sense that way. But yeah, the guns/combat/enemy AI/ENVIRONMENT DIVERSITY/different missions were just phenomenal.

I've been trying to get either BGtutu or BG Trilogy to work to play BG1 again... they keep crashing unfortunately or have bugs out the wazoo. I still haven't beat BG2
BG - 1 - I never did beat the boss on this one and actually lost interest in it.
BG2 - I beat the boss
BG3 - I beat the boss
NWN and supplements - I finished NWN and Supplements
NWN2 - the first attempt, I think the game was bugged and I could not kill the Shadow Reavers - I had Ammon Jerro reading the scrolls w/o attacking or aggro and still the Shadow Reavers were not going down. I am going to try it again shortly since I have had all of the updates and the Mask of the Betrayer supplement.
I am eagerly waiting to beta test Star Trek and Star Wars - The Old Republic.
My schedule has been fully loaded with school, CCIE certification testing, karate, and etc this year. A little too much if you ask me. In addition, helping people study for their CCNA exam. There were some questions that are on the new CCNA exam that you will also find on the new CCIE written exam.
I've been taking an on and off break from LOTRO. The endless grinding in both Freeps and Creeps (for pots) has me bored beyond tears. So when I am not playing LOTRO during down time, I am playing NWN2 The Initial Campaign with the Mask of the Betrayer supplement. With the Mask of the Betrayer supplement, the initial campaign is more stable and less buggy.
I also started playing Pathfinder (Dungeons and Dragons 3.75 - http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG) Play by Post (Message board posting) on www.theonlysheet.com Forum. The Only Sheet is the best character sheet on the DnD market. It only support DnD 3.5 and Pathfinder. It does not support DnD 4.0. The creators are old fashion DnD players and to them Pathfinder was the best update to DnD, not DnD 4.0. Pathfinder uses the DnD OGL d20 rules plus they added some of their own content. If you are an old fashion DnD player, you will most likely find Pathfinder to be enjoyable.
Some changes made in Pathfinder -
1) Redefined and added Class features (powers)
2) Humans and Half-Elves now get a +2 to any one attribute you choose.
3) No more multi-class uneven level penalties.
4) Sorcerers now have class features call Bloodline Powers.
and much more ...
Hammy
PS - I did purchase the update (Mirkwood) so I will continue playing LOTRO. Now if they would just get rid of grinding, I would enjoy the game more.
I've been getting back into my FPS groove lately
Battlefield 2142!
Was rusty as hell for a while (and still am to a degree) but getting that old feeling back is nice.
If anyone else plays look me up. aRabidFlea is my name and if I can, you'll find me in a tank >:D
From a PVP/PVMP perspective LOTRO is about at 20% of its potential. The pvp gameplay is pretty basic which is okay but I think a lot of us are just over the same map, the same choke points and the same mechanics. Put some doors on the keeps and let us have siege weapons (DAOC...to a lesser extent WAR), have parity in classes ie creep version of a rk or lm and if nothing else expand the map! I agree that the lifetime sub is great value, both Grurl and I have one, from my own point of view pvmp has become a bit of a one trick pony. /shrug everyones mileage will vary with this stuff.
Like Mac said...theres not a lot on the horizon to be excited about right now with MMO's until dev's stop making theme parks.
Anyway....I got to beat someone up with my #7 golf club in FE so I feel better now!
Same here, I've been dealing with a major life issue, and haven't been in-game lately. I still think, despite all the drama, that this game is still unbelieveably awesome....but you have to step back and look at this game with a non-biased view point. LOTRO sure has amazing gameplay, with an awesome storyline and graphics.
I'm glad I bought the lifetime subscription over a year and half ago, this game has definitely paid for itself.
Semi and Spit, send me a tell anytime, my freeps are in my sig, except my new burg - Sneakyrivaalan (lvl 50). I'd love to do some rad runs sometime.
Hey Spitting,
Sorry to hear about the family members - I've dealt with similar issues over the past few years so you have my sympathy. A lot of people are struggling right now (either sickness, financial issues etc) - So you're not alone - hang in there!
I agree with you about this game - as much as I get frustrated with Turbine, I can't really get into any other MMO. Aion was OK, (did the open beta) but I really love the Tolkien Lore. Not sure how Star Wars will pan out - I've never been a big fan of the movies - I would seriously consider a Wheel of Time MMO - the new book comes out next week I think.
I've been leveling my Burg (just got to level 49 and 1/2 to 50) - Name is Hemmelighet. My Warden is Ogrond and I've been putzing around in PvE land when the moors are void of Freeps. Look me up if you want to do something over there.
I highly doubt I am going to be playing any other MMO type games. This game took a lot out of me and I never thought I would like PVP. This was the only game that I had fun playing in PVP. This year I've been off and on playing this game. When I took my 6 month break I went back to play in Second Life. Which is more of a virtual world rather than a game. I feel more social in that game because it's easier to find others into the same stuff I like. I might play Runescape once in a while. Warhammer wasn't my style. Conan wasn't for me. Didn't even try AION. Doubt if I would like star wars but that might be the only other game I might look at. I'll probably go back playing solo games.
Games just isn't as interesting after playing almost every day this game. I'm losing that passion I had. This year getting over depression and now having to deal with a family member health issue. I have to make sure I can be strong and be there when needed. At least I finished all my goals I set out in this game. 6 level 60 characters. 1 with full rad gear and starting with dn pug raids. The rest all kindred in their respective crafting guilds. All I need is a champion and guardian when the update comes out. I'm self suficient. LOL.
I have almost experienced everything in this game so I'm happy. Always loved helping others and working as a team with great people. So I am going to continue that in this game and maybe when I have that pvp passion again I'll get back on creep side. I just don't feel like I need to try to be the best and highest player anymore. I just need to try the best I can and have fun. I did buy the upgrade and looking forward to it. Still going to play casual and take the time to look at the scenery. There's no rush. Also the drama I've seen in this game is so small compared to bigger drama in RL.

"rule #32: Enjoy the little things"
Eve Online for me. Great PvP action, and you have entire universe to explore. You can be pirates, fight for militia, or join an alliance and claim your slice of space by holding onto systems and valuable moons. Plenty of versatality on your ship builds and the kind of ships you can fly. Many nuances on how you fight other ships in space ... shield, armor tanking - missiles, turrets, energy management. There isn't just a single best build and any toon can pretty much do anything it wants since there is no leveling, only skill based training that opens up more areas of the game as you become more skilled. Dec 2nd they will be releasing their next free expansion called DOminion: will be upgrading the planetary visuals and revamping their null-sec space control and infrastructure mechanic so that PvP and fighting over systems will become even more intense and integrated into game.
They are also planning on coming out with an FPS called DUST 514 that will be part of the Eve Universe MMO, so that console players will be the marines in Eve while the PC players contract the DUST marines out to fight over districts on planets. It's all good.
Also I have found the relationship Eve gamemasters and developers have with the Eve community strong and responsive, and they are very interested in maintaining and expanding their PvP base.
You are doing something wrong V! Baulders gate NEVA crashes! :p
I've been trying to get either BGtutu or BG Trilogy to work to play BG1 again... they keep crashing unfortunately or have bugs out the wazoo. I still haven't beat BG2
I am thinking of getting Baulder's Gate out!!
/giggle
Loaded Titan Quest (Diablo II knockoff) back on my computer - forgot how much fun it was.
DDO is fun. But I really wanted it to be a filler game. LOTRO would have been much more enjoyable in the long run if I'd had DDO as well to play on occasion. But alas, I'm sooooooo burned out on PvE in LOTRO still. And the Moors just doesn't have that sparkle anymore.
I'm looking forward to Borderlands on 10/26. And Left4Dead2 in November. None of the next wave of MMO's are really appealing to me. And the new CoD won't have dedicated servers so I'm not really keen on it right now. Dragon Age might be a good play but it's singleplayer.
So for the near future, I'll be mostly playing small group games.
That all said, between work and taking some classes, my time is not what it used to be. So I'm playing a lot more board games like Arkham Horror, Pandemic, Space Hulk, Galaxy Trucker and Ticket to Ride with the family. It's been a lot of fun, especially since several of my board games are cooperative rather than competitive. Fun times.
I guess I'm still looking for the "next game".
I'm replaying some old games like oblivion, fallout 3 and whatever else takes my fancy.
On the note of games, this looks kinda interesting.
I've been playing wow in my unemployment. May or may not be back to lotro, depending on in SoM is a flop or not. Would try Aion if I had the funds, but unfortunately tis not to be at the moment.
I have been messing around in Fallen Earth for a few days now.......I just saw someone in chat with a name either Vyx or Vyxe!!
This game is pretty fun for an old UO fan! It has lots of open world/sandbox feel to it so far mixed in with a dash of the pre-CU SWG.....crafting is pretty deep too. I reckon it would appeal to those of us who remember the time before "theme park" MMO's and flashy graphics....that being said the graphics are pretty good for the game setting. Oh, the game doesnt lead you by the hand everywhere...you got to work a lot of stuff out...which is a breath of fresh air :) Its got guns n pvp too!!

Ok got your invite. Let the zombie killing commence, etc.
