LOTRO on Netbook

Gunnolf's picture

Hey guys,

Here is my latest monster Laughing netbook.

Acer Aspire One D250. I did upgrade the memory to 2 gig. Great for running older games like Morrowind and Neverwiter Nights. As for fps, I get high teens in LOTRO and same with D&DO except where there are a lot of players. Then it drops to less then 10.

Works well for crafting, checking AH, chatting, hugging Nopain when I see her Smile

Even crafting instances are doable.

Here is a picture of me in Grams.

High teens on a netbook?  That's rather impressive.

There was a forum post

There was a forum post started about this a while back.

High teens but not when other players are on screen. One or two is fine. More than that, lack of cpu power shows.

I have all game options on lowest or disabled when possible. I modified my windows XP heavily. Only running a few bare bone windows services. No firewall, antivirus etc. It makes a big difference on a cpu like this.

You can read this site for reference if you are comfortable playing with registry.
