Revision of The PvE Ettenmoors from Tue, 09/23/2008 - 8:11am

The revisions let you track differences between multiple versions of a post.

A Tour of the Ettenmoors

The map below shows the whole of the Ettenmoors zone with all major locations marked.  Of particular note are the following keeps

  • GV and Grams:  These keeps are untakeable.  GV is the main Freep base with Grams being the main Creep base.  They ahve 1-shot guards at their gates to prevent enemies from coming inside.
  • Lug and TR:  These keeps are takeable and each has a resurrection (rez) circle available upon capture.  The rez circles are surrounded by 1-shot guards.  Freeps can use Goldhead to help take TR while the Creeps can use Mauzek to take Lug with 75 Morningthaw haunches
  • TA, LC, and Isen:  These keeps are all takeable.  The Creeps can use the Tyrant in OC to attack TA with 25 each of Dwarf Beards, Hobbit Legs, and Legs of men.  They can also use Gorgoris in the spider den to attack LC with 75 Eagle Feathers.  The Freeps can summon drakes to attack Isen.

Maps

While Freeps have horses to travel upon, the creeps begin with nothing but their own two feet.  To even up the odds and to give your legs a break, Creeps can gather maps to quickly move across the Ettenmoors.  The Ettenmoors map shows where each crude, poor, and good map for each keep goes to. Gaining these maps requires completing a certain number of quests at each of the five takeable keeps.  Your progress for each keep is tracked on the deed log.  The Gramsfoot map is a special case, you pick up the quests in Gramsfoot to visit each keep.  If you can successfully complete each of these visit quests without dying, you are awarded the Gramsfoot map.

Map Type Quests Required Cooldown
Gramsfoot Special 1 minute
Crude 10 30 minutes
Poor 25 10 minutes
Good 50 5 minutes

Maps are a vital part of being an effective creep.  Without them the Freeps will outmanuever you and be able to dicate when and where an engagement will take place.  With maps you and your fellow creeps can rapidly concentrate forces to crush the Freep invaders.  Additionally they can be used for deception operations to swiftly travel unseen to many locations on the map to either escape or to strike at a vulnerable target.  Work on your maps as fast as you can and the order below is suggested

  1. Gramsfoot
  2. Crude TR
  3. Poor TR
  4. Crude TA
  5. Poor TA
  6. Crude Lug
  7. Crude Isen
  8. Crude Grim
  9. Poor Grim
  10. Good TA
  11. Good Grim
  12. Good TR
  13. Poor Lug
  14. Poor Isen
  15. Good Lug
  16. Good Isen

Missing Good Isen on map
The pretty map is missing good isen. I'd draw it in, but I suck with picture editing stuff.
