@Vet Creeps

Thu, 03/11/2010 - 23:55
as the years go on... and creeps gain rank on rank... overall there will be more vet high rank creeps, stronger creeps with more game breaking skills. This will make creepside a very strong force compared to the earlier days. so i have a multiple choice question for you.
would you?
A. Leave things as they are and make freeps adapt and fight in more numbers.
B. Have all freeps buffed somewhat to make the difference + a buff to new green creeps.
C. Have buffs by rank for freepside.
D. Nerf high rank creep skills.
E. Other.

just wondering what you guys are thinking and if you have noticed any trends in this direction :)

So long and thanks for all the fish.

First of all I would like to thank both sides for the pvp over the years, you guys are great!

But sadly I've made the decision along with Meep that we will no longer be playing LOTRO.

Since Mirkwood things just haven't been fun anymore both PvE and PvMP and the recent book reinforced this leading to the decision to terminate my subscription.

I find I no longer enjoy my warg and I refuse to keep repeating PvE content after it is no longer fun so right now I see no reason to continue to pay to play.

I'd like to thank Vyxe and all of BAOS, the ex-Serious Face creeps and the Aussies for making this server the best PvP in LOTRO for quite a long time.

Keep on killing eachother in droves and I hope to see you all again if not in this game then perhaps in another.

Worgnakh: Get Your House In Order

Worgnakh:

Please review the following post:
http://forums.lotro.com/showpost.php...21&postcount=6

I'm completely astonished that the elves in the territory that you call home have the audacity to speak to a warg in that tone. Faygo evidences no hesitation, much less fear, when he addresses me in that insulting manner.

Haven't you been teaching these insolent two-legged vegetable eating flower girls the meaning of the word RESPECT?

Far be it from me to tell you how to police your own territory; however, I will say that I work tirelessly to keep the elves in my territory in check and I'd urge you to do the same thing. We may be at odds on many issues, my friend, but I think it's safe to assume we both come down on the same side when it comes to lace wearing she-men mouthing off to Wargs.

Respectfully,

Please disband so that we can have actual PvP, you took Isen and LC and I understand that you've tried TR and still trying. Bad news, we have 10+ champs to play with =) Let the folks enjoy the moors, rather than having spars at TR lawn. Many don't log in to experience bore and log tactics.

Gratz Pukish!

Been meaning to post this. Gratz on r8! You IMO are one of the better burgs I have played with. Our recent crew, delta pattern lolz, and especially when we duo and our 3 mans too, are so much fun. You are fearless, selfless, and play with style. I always look forward to causing trouble with ya! On to rank 9....

A thread in praise of courage...

Wed, 03/10/2010 - 14:28
There's a lot of vitriol in the forums these days. So I figure that, in addition to the 1v1 thread, we could have a positive thread specifically dedicated to praising some courageous moments in the Moors. See some magic happen out there that had you laughing and shaking your head in disbelief that the strategy actually worked?

These events are not 1v1s, but are simply memorable events, from past or present, that have inspired you in some way. I'm sure you all have stories that you tell that began with something like, "I can't believe they pulled this off and lived." Tell those stories here and this thread will be testament to the great fun that is the Moors.

Keep it positive. Save the naysaying for other threads.

In light of recent events

There has been a lot of personal attacks, flaming, name calling, and overall hatred going on in game and on the forums. Way to much in my opinion. I just wanted to take the time to say,

that i really apperciate everyone that I play with in the moors. Without freeps there would be no fights. Without creeps there would be no fights. Regardless of how things are going, I've been having a lot of fun and I really enjoy seeing everyone out there duking it out. I love all you guys and I hope we all get past the bickering and fighting so we can all have a good time in the game. Vent is always hilarious(and somewhat rated ;]), I love running into raids when they have me alone and throwing some annoying skill on someone just as revenge for blowing me to bits :D. Seeing freeps playing that i have come to respect and care for. You guys are the best and i thank you for making my nights enjoyable.

Just wondering whats the obsession with the name Joy?

More Hobbits!!

Tue, 03/09/2010 - 19:35
For shame!! The only people with the balls to actually LIVE in the moors and contend day-in-day out with the constant onslaught of the creep masses and you are too busy living the comfy life in the Shire or running instances to defend them!

To Arms I Say!!! Defend our gallant Brother's and Sister's from the snarling masses.

More Hobbits in the Moors!!

I would love to see a raid of hobbits desend from gv. It would be awesome.

mind you we'd need one or two big people for buffs cause turbine is silly

Overdue WELCOME back Snark!

Tue, 03/09/2010 - 18:33
Reading some of these last few threads has made me shake my head.

Sometimes we take this game too seriously..

I had not mentioned how nice it is to have you back Snarky.

There is not many wargies who can make freeps blood boil. LOLZ, always well done indeed.

Addressing some attacks.
Though I like killing snark too, it is because she doesnt like to die a lot and has been one of the most frustrating wargs to try and kill for ages. I think the attacks are her even from some people I really like are over the top and a lil mean. Snark has always gotten hell from freepside. Has been spammed tracked so much she can barely move. I think the beauty of the moores is that everyone can play their class differently. I actually think shes a great warg. Good 1v1 and sneaky as they come. I have 1v1 with her more than a couple times. She can play a lil skiddish but gets up in the action and finishes beautifully. She has a sixth sence for when she's about to get lit up. She doesn't need me to stick up for her but being one of the people who hunts her with a passion sometimes I thought it might mean something to u all. Maybe have us all rethink how we feel about the other side.

So to finish, welcome back Snarky, its good to be screaming your name in frustration again
Please dont go....

Elendilmir - A freep dominated server: In the making.

***Elendilmir – A freep dominated PvMP server: In the Making***

Dear Freepside,

I understand that we are dealing with the highest ranked and most organized opponent of the client, but it is now our time to turn things around. Elendilmir has what many servers failed to maintain, friendly community and respect for both sides, that is why we are still enjoying the privilege of such amazing PvMP throughout the whole day, yes whole day, not just Eastern Prime time.

Many might be wondering as for why I will encourage many to bring out friends, transfers, kinnies and family. Not to feed the other side, but to save and maintain the population, eventually increase it. I have already seen the early stage of dying Brandywine and Elendilmir is slowly approaching it. However, this is my goal and should be the community’s goal to protect the Ettenmoors from becoming a waste-land.

Here is how we can make this happen, I cannot do it alone:

**Giving The Ettenmoors a good name**

A lot of the PvE folks and GLFF are a little sensitive when someone touches the PvMP topic, so this has to change first, the platform and pillars of the Ettenmoors.

First step would be acting as mature players and promote PvMP for the better. Act polite, positive and welcoming! If someone is getting personal and you feel the need to talk it out, take it to IMs box, one tip, keep your manners and if things go too far, just use F7 button to report, the GMs will take care of it. In other cases, just back each other up.

**Promoting the Ettenmoors and PvMP**

To bring out more numbers, PvMP has to be an occasional constant in chats, forums, ventrilo.

1. Kinship:
This is the best source to bring out your friends and get to know the rest of the kin better, when someone says, “I am bored!” just simply propose the idea of coming out to help in PvMP, whether it is to defend a keep or run in duo!

2. Glff:

If the other side overwhelms with numbers, don’t be secretive about it, advertise in glff, “Would like a few freeps to come help defend TR, it would be greatly appreciated”. It worked yesterday for me, 2 advertises and 6-8 more showed instantly to defend our keep, so keep that in mind, usually that is all it takes.

3. Events:

It is time that Elendilmir starts organizing more PvMP events, like the captain raid, tournaments with prizes and video sessions. I will be making a PvMP event very soon, so stay tuned! Maybe every Sunday can be an Event night, I will talk with many more about this, hope we pick a decent day. (Raid vs Raid in epic places, killing Lug rez one-shots, class-specific events, cosmetic events, delving raid nights, naked raid and etc)

4. Elendilmir Official PvMP video:

This is something I would like the community to step up to, people with decent systems can record while the veterans can organize staged fights, I am all up for it. It could be a sticky on Elendilmir PvP forums.

5. Freep website and ventrilo:

All the raids and small groups should be led in ventrilo, this way it will keep the vent busy and keep it alive. Also, this will force many to register on the website too. Myself, I will be moving to vent very soon also, once I get better internet.

6. Friends from other servers:

I know many of you are transfers, so if there is someone that you know, that is hesitant of the transfer, encourage them, I’m sure they will enjoy our PvMP and the community.

**The community**

This is the part that we, Free People, will have to work at:

1. Respect:

Respect one another, at the end of the day; you are in the same boat working together against/with your opponents.

2. Hearty Help:

If someone is new to the moors, explain them how things are, that there are 5 keeps, if they are blue, that means they are Freep controlled and don’t forget to mention the infamous EC and An!

3. Assisting in battle:

This is what many would like to see more happening. If you are solo and are able to heal, give stun dot, remove poison, rez, please do so and never watch your fellow freep die in front, sacrifice yourself to save him. We have been doing a good though solo assisting, so keep it up guys.

4. Grouping up:

I know many like to solo, but in fact, grouping up with 1-2 people can be a lot of fun, it increases your chance of a kill and survival. Don’t hesitate =)

5. Remembering:

Keep in mind if you are a transfer or new to the community, that you should respect to earn respect, so if there is a 1 vs. 1 going, small fair battle, please don’t interrupt. Also, please limit corpse jumping, unless the creep that you killed is your friend or #1 enemy.

6. This is madness:

No, THIS… is… ELENDILMIR!!! *epic Spartan kick*

On the end note:

I don’t expect the community to change right away, it will take one person at a time, step by step, so let’s make it happen guys!

I am bringing a whole kinship over to Elendilmir to support everything above and help continue building positive community with many events, so it will be good times.

Character

Mon, 03/08/2010 - 20:58
For those of us who choose to play PvMP predominatly in LOTRO we forsake the story and the characters designed for LOTRO in the PvE sense. In fact the only in game characters we come incontact with are the ones we create. To be a good game it is vital you need good characters (players) to make the game more entertaining and enjoyable for all. We are all part of the game so there is a reflection of our actions on others who play the game.

What i am trying to say is that Characters we create and play with are like wine they improve with age and what you put into it. So if class changes are making playing your character less fun and your tempted to roll a FoM class just think what you forsake. Not only do FoM classes upset the balance of PvMP it also kills character, characters in which we all need to enjoy LOTRO.

For instance im stuggling this book with the changes to the guardian class but its not the first time and going through the harder times builds your character. It may be harder but like all things stick to it and when you get through it you will be a better player. i guess i just dont want to see my (friends/foes) characters giving up and just rolling burgs and wargs and selving their main characters because it is easier.

peace out and i hope to see (at least recongnise) you on the battlefield.
